This is a reminder that our Pre-Order store is offering a limited selection of Kickstarter items until October 9th, 2023 for those who had failed payments and missed out on our campaign!After this date, only a few items such as game keys, digital art book and the whale turbine plushie will remain available. Please note that this period will be the final time in which the game keys will be priced at this level! The store will be accepting both PayPal and card payments. If you know anyone who missed out on our campaign, make sure to let them know! 🙌🏼

Survey FAQ 📝

All surveys have been sent now! The following is a list of survey FAQs that we've gathered from the community over the past week.

1. When do surveys close?

For those who have already submitted their survey, we will be locking your order on Tuesday October 31st, 2023. If you purchased additional add-ons within the survey, or made a pledge upgrade, this is also when your cards will be charged. If you would like us to lock your survey and charge your card before October 31st 2023 for any reason, please contact us at [email protected]

For those who haven’t filled out the survey, you will have until March 31st 2024, to submit your response. Please note that if you do not fill out the survey by this date, it may result in delays in the delivery of your rewards. Between October 31st and March 31st, we will be locking any new surveys on a fortnightly basis - ie. we will be checking submissions and locking orders on the 15th and the final day of each month.

Please note that the earlier you complete your survey, the earlier we can deliver your Discord rewards (e.g. Discord titles and access to the private Alpha Group).

If you would like to make an edit to your response (for example, your desired platforms to play Loftia on) after your survey has been locked, you can email us at [email protected] and we can make a manual change for you. However please note that all add-on purchases and pledge upgrades once your survey is locked will be final.

2. What’s the difference between Steam, Mac and PC keys?

Steam means we’ll send you a Steam key for you to download Loftia via Steam. Mac and PC means that we’ll be sending you a game key for you to download Loftia and install it onto your computer directly. You’ll be able to use the same Mac or PC key to download Loftia on other Mac or PC devices too.

3. How does the bestie pack work when filling out the survey for two people?

For those who purchased the Bestie Pack tier, your survey will come with additional fields for you to add information about your bestie, including their Discord username and platform preference. If you include their email, we’ll also be able to send them their game key to them directly. If you choose to skip this, we will send you both game keys and you’ll be able to distribute it yourself. If you want to add an email for your bestie after your survey has been locked, you can email us at [email protected] and we’ll be able to manually add the email address in.

4. I bought additional add-ons for my friend. How do I get these add-ons to them?

All add-ons will be sent to the main backer's email as unique codes, and won't be bound to a game key, so that you can distribute them to whoever you like once you have received them!

5. If we have bought the Alpha or Early Access keys does this mean we have bought the official game as well?

Yes! Both Alpha and Early Access keys will grant you access to the full game. Alpha Access keys also automatically comes with Early Access. You do not need to buy an additional Early Access key if you already have Alpha Access.

6. When will Discord roles be distributed and when will we be invited to the Discord Alpha Group?

Discord roles will start rolling out by next Monday October 9th.

For Alpha backers, you'll be able to access our private Alpha group once you have your title. This will be a private channel in our main Discord server.

7. What are the limitations for the Tree Hugger plaque?

If you have purchased the Tree Hugger plaque, there are two fields in the survey that you’ll need to fill out: name and message. For the name, it must be a maximum of 30 characters in length, with no special characters or emojis. For the message, it must be a maximum of 500 characters in length, with no special characters or emojis - however basic punctuation marks are accepted. As for format, paragraphs and line spaces are allowed, so you’ll be able to submit poems or other formatted text, as long as it is your original work and not copyrighted. All languages are accepted for both the name and message.

Please note that the team will be reviewing and approving all names and messages. We will reach out to you if there are any changes that need to be made.

8.What do I do if I still haven't received my survey?

If you still haven’t received yours, there are several things you can do to troubleshoot:

• Check the email on file with Kickstarter. Often users have old emails still tied to their accounts (Particularly if you authenticate through Facebook).
  
• Check your spam filters/archived emails. Look for a title containing "Response Needed -- Get your reward for Loftia"
  
• Check your account on Kickstarter, to ensure that you successfully backed the project, and weren't dropped from the campaign due to failed payment. If you did in fact back the campaign - take a screenshot that includes your pledge details,  Backer ID # and Pledge Number and send this screenshot with your email and Kickstarter username included in the body of the email to [email protected]. The support team can help you locate your unique survey link.
  

Backers who have pledged to the campaign using their AppleID but haven't completely set up their Apple Pay account (linking their email address to their Apple Wallet) will have issues receiving emails from BackerKit. For these backers, we have sent a Kickstarter message to you with your unique survey link, so please check your inbox on Kickstarter! To ensure that you’ll be able to receive future emails from us, please email [email protected] with your name and the email address that you would like us to use, and we’ll be able to update your contact details for you.

New NPC! 🌾

For those who haven't seen our update on our socials, we've now revealed our new NPC! Meet Loftia's Community Farm Manager! We'll be holding a poll to decide his name tomorrow, so if you have any suggestions, make sure to comment them below! 

Our Community Farm Manager is super passionate about sustainable farming, having even pioneered Loftia's first hydroponic machine! He can teach you everything you need to know about growing crops, managing nutrients, pH proficiency, and how to farm with maximum efficiency. In his spare time, he loves crocheting cute farming accessories (especially making little hats & decorations for his hydroponic machines), reading up on new farming techniques and baking cherry pies to share with the community. Cabbages are his favorite crop, so if you give him one he might give you a little treat in return 🥬👀

Hi Loftians! We hope everyone’s been doing well!

 Surveys are now being sent! 💌    

Surveys for Kickstarter rewards are now being sent to all backers!  Due to the large number of backers, they will be sent out in batches over the next few days. If you haven't received yours yet - don't worry, it'll arrive in your email soon (make sure to check spam)! If you have any questions about the survey, feel free to drop them in the #questions channel on our Discord or by emailing [email protected], and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Surveys will be used to record your information so that we can deliver your rewards when they're ready, and it'll also allow you to upgrade your pledge level, or purchase any additional add-ons if you wish to!

 Pre-Order Store 🎉

In other exciting news, we are going to be officially opening our public Pre-Order Store starting next week (that will be supporting both card and PayPal payments)! The store will offer non-Kickstarter reward items such as game keys, digital art book and plushie, and will be open indefinitely.

However we understand that some of you experienced payment problems with Kickstarter and were dropped from the campaign, so we’ll also be offering a limited selection of Kickstarter rewards for the first 2 weeks! Unfortunately we aren’t able to offer the full Kickstarter pledge tiers now that the campaign has ended, but this will still be an opportunity to secure some extra goodies for those who missed out.

The Pre-Order Store will launch next week at Monday, 7:00am PT, and you can access it by going onto our Kickstarter page and clicking the link that will be visible when the store goes live! If you know anyone who missed out on our campaign, be sure to let them know too.

 What we’ve been up to 🛠

Like all Kickstarter campaigns, there has been a huge amount of admin and organisational work to get through following the Kickstarter campaign, including roadmapping our development plan for the year ahead, as well as taking some days off to rest and recharge! Right now our team is already back and deep in development as we speak, so we'll be starting dev updates soon!

We also recently announced an Emoji Competition for our Discord server as our first post-Kickstarter community event! 😍🎨 This event involves creating an emoji inspired by the world of Loftia, or anything that you think would fit within the game. The winners of this competition will have their emoji added to the Loftia discord server emoji list! We've already gotten some incredible submissions from our community, and we can't wait to see more roll in - so if you have a creative idea for a Loftia emoji, come join our event! Post-campaign FAQ! Card settlements, BackerKit Survey and what's next! 🌱🎉

Hi everyone! 👋🏼

We hope you all had a great weekend of rest and relaxation now that Loftia’s Kickstarter campaign is over, we know we definitely did! There were still a few moments where we had to pinch ourselves to make sure this all wasn’t all a dream! Thank you again for the most incredible campaign month, we really appreciate everyone’s congratulatory messages, and it’s so heartwarming to see our community come together to celebrate this win! 💛🎉

We’ve put together a list of everything you need to know during the next few weeks. This is a very important period of time as all Kickstarter transactions will be getting settled, and we will also be sending out BackerKit surveys so you can claim your rewards! Here’s an overview of some of the key pieces of information you should know:

My Kickstarter payment didn’t go through. What should I do? 💳

If your payment was declined, you’ll need to log in to your Kickstarter account and click the "Fix Payment" button in the banner at the top of your screen. This will guide you through the process of changing or retrying your payment method. Kickstarter will also send you an email every 48 hours with a direct link to correct the issue.

If there isn’t a specific issue with your card type or funds available, your bank or card issue might just have flagged the transaction to the safe. If this is the case, please reach out to your bank or card issue directly to ask for help.

  You’ll have 7 days from the date the project ended to resolve the payment issue, before you’ll be dropped from the project. You can also refer to Kickstarter’s Common Pledge Problems page for more information on payment processing issues.

How do I claim my Kickstarter rewards? 🎁

We’ll be working with BackerKit to send our surveys to all backers, via the email associated with the Kickstarter account you used to pledge. These backer surveys will be the way for us to get the details required for delivery of all of the rewards. This will include email addresses, Discord usernames for the Discord titles, and also physical addresses for those who got the whale turbine plushie. We will be making another reminder announcement the day before surveys are sent.

After we have received all survey responses, we will begin the process of delivering immediate rewards such as Discord titles and access to the Discord Alpha group. For backers who have purchased “design” rewards, we will also be directly emailing you when we’re ready to start the process. More information about this, and all other rewards will be announced once we’ve collected the required information from all backers!

Can I still upgrade my pledge and purchase more add-ons? ⬆️

Yes! Existing backers will have the chance to upgrade to a higher reward tier, or grab any additional add-ons, through BackerKit's Pledge Manager system. The pledge manager will only be available to those who have backed during the campaign in August, however.

When will we receive the Survey and access to the Pledge Manager?

Kickstarter requires 2 weeks to collect all backers' payments and let us know which pledges were successful. Once that’s been done, we will be sending out both the Survey and Pledge Manager access to all backers.

We were originally hoping to send both of them out this week, however, due to the time Kickstarter needs to process the pledges, we’ve had to extend the timeframe. We know how excited everyone is to receive their Discord titles and more information about the rest of the rewards, but please rest assured we’re working to get them out as quickly as possible!

I missed the Kickstarter. Will there be a pre-order store? ⏰

We know that a lot of projects open a BackerKit pre-order store after their campaign ends, and we will also be considering this option for Loftia. If we do open a pre-order store, this will mainly be for backers who weren’t able to complete their payment within the 7 day window, or for those who were unable to back due to incompatible card types. Quite a few people have messaged us that they weren't able to pledge for the Kickstarter due to the limited payment options Kickstarter accepts, and it doesn't seem fair to leave them out! The Kickstarter rewards are meant to be a thank-you to our earliest supporters, so this would only be for a limited time and would only feature a limited number of Kickstarter tiers. We’ll keep everyone updated soon, on whether there will be a pre-order store!

What’s next for Loftia? 🌱

The road to Alpha starts now!! The upcoming year will be incredibly exciting as we build our way towards our first Alpha play-test, and we can’t wait to bring you along for the journey!

As a first step, our team will be diving straight into roadmap planning to re-assess our project scope and carefully budget our new resources. We want to take our time with this so we can lay a solid foundation for the future, so we expect this to take a full month. Once all our plans have been re-assessed, our team will continue developing our Alpha build. Throughout this phase, we will be providing regular updates on our progress and keeping all your suggestions and ideas front of our minds. We still have 2 more pets to confirm - and we’ll be running a poll on our social platforms to decide what animals they should be!

During all of this, we will continue planning fun events and activities for our Loftian community through our Discord and other social platforms! So make sure to join our Discord and turn on pings to get notified of future announcements, updates and events!

Hey Loftians!

WE DID IT! 🥳 Loftia's Kickstarter has now concluded, and what a truly AMAZING month this has been!!! The campaign has been such an incredible success with over 16,000+ backers, and many more who have been cheering us on from the sidelines and providing support in other ways too! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Loftia is going to be INCREDIBLE, directly as a result of the never-ending enthusiasm and support and all of you in the community!

So, what's next?!

Now that the campaign is over, we've begun work on the backer surveys! These backer surveys will be the way for us to grab the details required for delivery of all of the rewards. This will include email addresses, Discord usernames for the Discord titles, and also physical addresses for those who got the whale turbine plushie!

Many of you have asked whether you'll be able to pledge for additional rewards or tiers after the campaign has ended, and the answer is yes! Throughout the month of September, all existing backers will have the chance to upgrade to a higher reward tier, or grab any additional addons, through BackerKit's Pledge Manager system. The pledge manager will only be available to those who have backed during the campaign in August, however.

We're working together with BackerKit on both the surveys and the pledge manager, and we expect them to be pushed out next week! So keep an eye out for those - we'll keep everyone updated on this front through both updates here on Kickstarter, as well as on our Discord.

A quick note about payments: Kickstarter will be charging everyone's cards now that the campaign has ended. If your card is declined, Kickstarter will be in contact with you, and there'll be a 7 day window for you to fix any card-related issues!

Adventure Builder UNLOCKED! And we're now in our FINAL 24 HOURS!

Good timezone, Loftians from all over the world!

Thank you so much to every single one of you for your overwhelming support and encouragement for Loftia! We've managed to hit the Adventure Builder stretch goal in just 1 day after reaching the million dollar mark, which is just absolutely mind-boggling to think about. Let's all give ourselves a huge pack on the back!!!

Adventure Builder

Adventures were always going to be a staple of Loftia, but with the Adventure Builder unlocked, you'll be able to build your very own adventures from a range of building blocks! You'll be able to link together series of these building blocks, or "modules", to create an experience that both you, your friends, and even the wider Loftia community will be able to partake in.

Within the team, the Adventure Builder has always been one of the most highly anticipated stretch goals. In fact, even before the campaign had started, we had already built out an internal working prototype of this feature! Now that we've actually hit the stretch goal, we're going to be diving into developing it further and polishing it up as soon as we can. Keep an eye out for more news in this area!

What's next?!

We know many of you in the community are hoping for even more stretch goals, and in fact, we did have a few more ideas that we had been considering. However, we've decided that rather than promising even more stuff, we're going to commit all of our additional resources to making sure that the features we have already promised are as fleshed out, deep and polished as they can possibly be!

But, that doesn't mean all the additional ideas that we have in mind are going away! They're still there, and we're still planning on bringing them to Loftia. We're definitely not done with Loftia even after it reaches full release status! The team is going to be continuing to build and add more features for many, many years to come.

Rest assured that every dollar that we raise from here on out in these last 24 hours will still be going directly towards making Loftia the best possible game that it can be! This final push will be sure to have a very significant impact on the development timelines of Loftia.

So there is one final thing that we would like to ask of you: please share about the Loftia campaign to your friends, family, or on socials! Together, we'll have a huge impact on the campaign and the future of Loftia in these closing hours, we can feel it!
